Creative Gift Wrapping...When A Box Is Not Just A Box

I love gift giving, no matter what time of the year it may be. From birthdays to Christmas, and everything in between.

But the one thing I learned long ago, was that when you have lots of people to give to, no time to wrap, and at the very same time need to be thrifty, you've gotta be innovative, creative and most of all resourceful to come up with beautiful gifts, that are practical as well as special.

What I found to work well for me , was the idea of starting in the spring, or whenever the moment bit me, (hopefully earlier in the year is better.) Was to get a jump on the new year's special occasions by jutting down a list of all the very special people in my life that I would like to gift, and may be a little note on what I know they liked.

Than I'll go to all my favorite shops on Etsy, ( Go to my My Etsy Connection Page for Ideas) to see if I can find just the right perfect something for that very unique person on my list. Once that's done, I'm half way there, I don't like wrapping like I mentioned earlier, so I tend to look or create gift boxes, tins, baskets or interesting containers that I can use not only as packaging, But as a gift as well.

Here's a sample of just one of my Christmas gift boxes kit, that comes with personalized gift tag, cellophane bag , ribbons, and hand painted gift box. All you have to do is choose your gift, and fill, stow in bag, wrap with ribbon and, walla you're done. How easy is that! So next time you need some very special packaging, that isn't just a box or tin, stop by my shop on etsy.com and we'll fix you up with something original, unique and very beautiful. That's the beauty of what I do, everything is made with love. As well it should be. You wouldn't want just any old box to give your love of your life would ya. Didn't think so.

Gift Giving Kits range from $12.50 ~ 18.00, plus shipping and handling, this includes insurance and tracking for your security, and local Hawaii states tax. Want to know more visit my http://www.creativecaldron.etsy.com/ or comment here, and I'll get right back at you.

Itssy Bitssy Bows

Every little girl loves having her hair all dolled up, I know I did. My grandma, always made me up so that I would always be her little princess. Just as I did my daughter when she was young.

She'd always go to school wearing my latest creations. From loopy clusters of layered ribbons, charmed with silk flowers, pearls, and all sorts of do dads, to the classic over the top silk bow, with a huge red rose. Boy it drew lots of attention. So much so that every little girl in her class and the others wanted some of that girly girl style too.

That was the beginning of a great little business happening just from hair accessories such as these. As you can see, each bow is a slightly diffrent in shape, color, and textures. I try not to ever duplicate a style.
Everyone likes feeling special, so I make sure there's a bit of a difference to keep them all happy.

Besides creating these lovelies for the little miss, I also have bows for the ladies, and for cheerleaders too. If you'd like to know more about my hair accessories, drop me a line here by commenting, and I'll get right back to you.

These bows range from $5.00- 8.00, plus shipping, handling and our local tax. I also do special orders as well. Like I said contact me for details. If you'd like to order you can order directly from here, or you can go and see more of my magic at my Etsy shop, just click and you're there.

Dreaming of Afrika....Dress Up Bear

"""" This is not a toy """" She is a recreated adopted stuffed bear, who loved the idea of being in Afrika, so that's what I helped her to be.
Maya is a beautiful chocolate brown teddy bear dressed in a lovely African inspired print of sorts. Although not a specific location or if any, I just loved the way it made me feel the wild beauty of a land that I so dearly love. She is adorned with white washed bone beads, stone fetish of the sea goddess, in the symbol of the fish and other earthly toned beads. She is also wearing a copper bracelet with abalone shell donut and leaf bone bead, also in honor of the earth mother. In her left arm she hold a weaker basket of ferns, and wild yellow popcorn orchids. To elevate her to the majestic status that she deserves she wears a raffia head dress and oval hoop earrings dressed with copper coils and glass Carmel colored beads. Maya is a one of a kind Afrikan inspired teddy bear, that was created as a luck charm and talisman. She holds talisman symbols of love, protection, and the mother goddess.

Madam Fortuneteller Bear

Let me introduce you to the mystical fortuneteller, she is every bit of the mystic and beauty thought of in old thyme folk lore, accept she's my newest addition to my Dress up Bear Collection. I've been making dress up bear dolls for over 15 years. I started by collecting old unwanted stuffed animals, dressed them up in whatever stole my fancy at the moment and walla, a new persona was born. I've created bears for all seasons, all cultures and or all occasions. Great for favors, gifts and that very special some one we all know that has an addiction to all things bears. I've been focusing so much on my other sites that I really needed something to stir my passions again. And low and be hold, I always come back to by dress up bears.
All bears are found at our local "Goodwill helping hands store", where I hand pick each bear and adopt them and they become my family of dress up bears. I design each persona, by what comes to me at the time of creation. I never know what's going to show up, until I get started. Each bear has a story to tell, and I become so engrossed in their story that everyone who sees my bears know how addicted I can become in their creations. All materials are of found objects, vintage beads or jewelry, wire, fabric remnants, etc.
Each bear range from $25 -$60, plus shipping handling and tax. Want to know more, visit me at http://www.creativecaldron.etsy.com

Etsy Sale....http://www.creativecaldron.etsy.com...Baby Girl 1st. Christmas

My 4th Etsy sale this week, I've been having such a wonderful week, with my three shops picking up sales. Since two of the sales were out of country, I've had a whole new experience with dealing with shipping services. I didn't realize that some countries don't accept tracking, some don't accept sizes more than a certain measurement, and well risks can be high with out these services. But the price for doing business can be high and costly for these protections it's just a whole new enterprise on researching marketing and dealing with servicing my customers. Although I wasn't able to insure a package to Canada due to the high cost of $18.96 for a box may be 8X8X8, I decided it's time to start looking into the matter and figure out a way to still secure my packages and keep cost down. If any one out there has really good tips and info on the matter drop me a line. Please!!!! .....Always a pleasure PK
